David founded the Academy in 2017 in association with Golf Channel Academy where he was a featured on-air instructor. Golf Digest magazine ranks David among the “Ten Best Teachers” in Illinois.

He has assembled an elite team of coaches in Illinois and Florida, equipped with the technology tools to provide a personalized learning experience for adults and juniors of all skill levels.

His student successes include active players on the PGA tour, LPGA tour plus top ranked collegiate and high school players. He has been a Class A PGA member since 1995. Previously David was the Director of Golf Operations at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club responsible for merchandising, tournament operations and corporate event planning.

Prior to that, he owned Piper Glen Golf Club in Springfield, IL and was Head Golf Professional at St. Charles Country Club from 1997- 2007.

Granger has a unique ability to simplify complex concepts and help golfers at all skill levels achieve measurable success in all aspects of the game. He is a passionate performance coach who has measured and worked with many of the world’s top players, coaches and teams.

Granger brings his holistic coaching methods to the Academy and Chicago area golf community. Every player has individual golf goals and Granger’s approach is designed to help achieve these goals. He first evaluates an athlete’s performance in 5 areas: Physical, Technical, Neurological, Tactical, and Mechanical then creates an individualized program so athletes can excel in these 5 areas regardless of their current abilities or level of play.

Granger received his early training at the elite David Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy at IMG Academies in Florida where he also became a coach. He coached at the Titleist Performance Institute Junior Performance Center, and was a founding member at Blast Motion, a leader in sports motion-capture technology used by many MLB teams and hundreds of tour players. He is certified in golf and sport science technologies including Titleist Performance Institute, K-Vest, and Blast.

Abby Adams

Associate Coach

Abby specializes in teaching adults and children of all ages at beginner and advanced beginner levels. Abby encourages each student to have fun and to always stay positive through the learning process.

From 2011 – 2019 Abby assisted with kids’ golf clinics at Pottawatomie Golf Course in St Charles.

Abby is a certified US Kids Coach. In 2005 she coached the girls and boys Junior Varsity Golf at a high school in Michigan where she grew the girls’ team from 5 to 21 golfers in just 5 years.

In addition to coaching golf, Abby is a middle school long distance coach, long jump and triple jump coach. From 2011 -2019 Abby assisted with kid’s golf clinics at Potawatomie Golf Course in St. Charles. Abby is also very active in teaching Special Olympic Athletes and had the opportunity to play in the 2021 Special Olympics as a unified partner placing 3rd with her Partner.

Brittany Chmiel

Junior Golf Coach

Brittany has been enjoying the game of golf for over 30 years. She played on her High School Varsity Golf Team. Brittany currently resides in Geneva with her husband, two young daughters and dog.

Brittany looks forward to helping kids learn and improve their golf skills, proper good etiquette while having fun and fostering a love of golf in your children.

Jill Johnson

Director of Merchandising

Jill comes to us as not only a professional, but as a parent. Her oldest daughter, Sadie has been with the Academy since 2017. Having participated on several junior tours including US Kids, Under Armor Junior Tour, PGA Junior League, and the Illinois Junior Golf Association, she has developed a strong background on the needs of a Junior golfer. As an avid golfer herself, she also has the ability to recognize the demands of what students and golfers alike require while out on the course.

Jill has been a Stay at Home mom since leaving her career as a paralegal in 2012 to raise her three children. Having grown up in Geneva, Jill was
dedicated to serving her community in several capacities. In 2016, Jill joined the Geneva Community Chest Board of Directors and in
in 2018 was appointed to the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee for the City of Geneva where she served as Chairwoman. During her time on
SPAC, she was instrumental in creating the cities inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion task force.

Jill has also been an integral part of the Parent Teacher Association where she has served on the Executive board since 2016. Her budgeting,
creativity and critical thinking skills have helped contribute to the large amount of funds distributed to the students and teachers throughout the course of the year. She has also served on the Communications Task Force for Geneva School District 304.
